this is a most beautiful post and I hope you don't mind but I added it to my shared faves on my google reader... you touch on so many points that really are the point...the whole point of being here. Knowing you for as long as I have (goodness! it's been 11 years, hasn't it? or is it longer? holy) I've witnessed all of these stages in you and have always been so blown away by the courageous way you step up and stride forth into the next thing, always with your eye on your own authenticity and your own reasons for living. Not too many folks in this earth walk exhibiting such consciousness. I know I'm not facing nearly what you face and pony up and walk through.

you look so gorgeous out there in the berry field. wish I could have gone picking with you...happy jamming!

"I understand that they came back as protection, as walls to enable me to navigate the emotional and mental battering rams that seemed to come along with the schoolwork. But I don't understand why they don't release me, let me go back to a gentler, more surrendered way of living."
from where I sit, you answered your question just before you asked it...some part of you feel you need protection. And that's okay. When it no longer feels that way, the mutual release will happen.
And I echo what Kelly said: there are few humans I've encountered who can maintain such a level of openhearted consciousness. And I think, when you live in that state, there are no "answers", yet the struggle to find them is inevitable.
{bows deeply}

You're human
