If you need help with stats, I'm available. I may be a little rusty, but I'm sure we covered similar stuff in my grad program (sociology). It was one of the more rigorous one in the country, even. I know it would be better if I were there....

Be stalwart Ms. Horshack Brown McBeal---remember, the steeper the mountain, the more triumphant the victory.

We're pulling for ya!

thanks for sharing...sending positive vibes your way.

Oh god, luv, I so feel you on this one. I dropped out of my Sociology grad program because, even though I did extremely well in undergrad stats, I couldn't wrap my brain around the grad-level classes. I was only half-heartedly in the program anyway, so it didn't kill me to quit, but it was still painful.

I say this not to scare you, but to let you know you're not alone. And you *want so much* to get through this program, I can't see you letting this stop you. Keep climbing over those hurdles, my dear. You *will* succeed.

Major major hugs, and lots of good thoughts coming your way.

I know exactly how you feel. But you can do this. And kudos for making the prof stand up and take notice. Just sucks that you had to resort to that.

****GOOD VIBES****

I remember this feeling, although at a much lower level of college. Still, it's a floaty, freaky feeling.

You are doing everything right: reaching out for help when you need it, reaching out further if you get brushed aside. You are unstoppable!

You can do this. Heck, you ARE doing this.

Good luck! Although, you really don't need it.

Never took stats (or any math) as an undergrad. When I hit my MPA program, not only was it extremely stats-heavy, I was tapped to teach stats as a grad assistant. There was a bit of shock. I was even more shocked when I found out that I actually got it, which had never been the case with math of any kind before. I became the go-to guy on stats for my entire MPA class. It was very weird.

(As Marge Simpson said about teaching the piano, you just have to stay one lesson ahead of your students.)

Kick ass and take no prisoners. Your prof sounds like a borderline asshat.

I had a reverse experience... my graduate statistics (which was rolled into research methods class) was WAY easier than my undergraduate classes in research methods and statistics. I had the same problem in stats at first. Got a D on my first "quiz." I busted my butt, and fortunately the prof was nicer (except his office hours were 7 A.M.). I ended up with a B and was extremely proud of that.

It will be OKAY. xoxo

kitty snuggles are the best form of self-medication--but I hear there is a problem with addiction...

Okay, you can do this. You can totally do this. It's finding the way in to where the help is, and you're making that happen.

God. I am sending you every ounce of "I can learn Chinese today" vibe I can muster. I'll get those little shit kids on the case too, they have more energy than God.

i love you.
